Battlestations: Pacific is an action-packed WWII tactical shooter on an extraordinary scale and features two distinctly different single player campaigns. As the Americans, the game picks up the story where Battlestations: Midway left off and allows players to fight their way from The Battle of Midway to Okinawa as they try to secure peace in the Pacific. As the Japanese however, players take control of the Imperial Japanese fleet and have the unique chance to fight at Pearl Harbor before attempting to change the course of history and take full control of the Pacific Ocean.
Battlestations: Pacific offers a unique blend of action and strategy, as players must plan their moves carefully on huge open-world arenas and then fight in the air, above sea and underwater as they take direct control of their units and storm into combat. Join forces with friends online or play solo against the computer controlled opponents in the all-new Skirmish mode or battle each other in one of the five new, innovative multiplayer modes. Launch full-scale attacks and at anytime switch to and take full-control of any plane, ship or sub. You command, fly the attack, fire the battleship's 15-inch guns, and submerge the mini-sub anyway you choose throughout the battle.
- Two Massive Campaigns: 28 full-scale battles across two unique campaigns. The historic American campaign begins after Midway and goes to Guadalcanal, Leyte, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and more.

Those of you that have not played Battlestations Midway (the prequel to Pacific) will be in for a huge surprise with this game that blends both action and strategy together to defeat your foes in air,sea and under-sea. Fans of the previous game will also find that graphics, audio and the general feel of the game have all been greatly improved, also with a variety of extra game-modes and multiplayer extras.
The game has 2 singleplayer campaigns, American and Japanese. You can relive history as the Americans or rewrite as the Japanese which brings an extra twist to the game. Also with the introduction of "Skirmish" mode into Battlestations vastly lengthens the game and gives it much mroe of a replay value than that of the first one.Reviews By J. Ryan : Date 18 May 2009
I liked the original incarnation of Midway but always felt it was a bit lacking in terms of graphics and strategy. This new release has resolved these issues.
Graphics, whilst not mind-blowing are a far improvement on Midway and certainly add to the 'feeling' of the game. Sounds are marginally improved.
The game is played on two levels,.. 1. As a strategic map view with the ability to command your own units and view the unvieling theatre on both sides. 2. As an 'in action' unit view so you are able to take control of your vessel/aircraft. This is where Eidos have really improved things,.. the ships and aircraft have more 'feel' to them whether from the firepower, damage affect, or manoevring. Vessels such as Destroyers do hold more of a potential impact in the game than previously whilst maintaining their obvious vunerabilities.
The single player campaigns, even at Expert level are not really that challenging but do allow you to unlock further units for use in off and online games, so certainly worth seeing both US and Jap campaigns to the end. The choice of aircraft and vessels is massively improved as well, all adding to the online gameplay experience.Reviews By Druss Film Legend : Date 13 Dec 2009
I am not very good at many of the games that need good control of many functions at once. Probably my age. I still found this game enjoyable, especially in the training mode. Here you can practise away without being shot at and thus not getting frustrated too soon. Have not got into the campaigns as yet but I'm getting very good piloting a Hurricane.Buy Battlestations Pacific (Xbox 360) Now
